Garner Trojan Club will host the Fourth Annual Athletic Hall of Fame
Induction and Banquet on Thursday May 1, 2014 at The Grand Marquise
Ballroom. Dinner will be at 6:30 and the Induction Ceremony will follow
at 7:00. Tickets can be purchased at the main office or from Athletic
Director Nelson Smith.
Juniors, are you extremely interested in attending ELON University after high school? If
so, you may want to consider becoming a Junior Elon Scholar in order to
receive opportunities, including early admissions decision to Elon, A
Presidential Scholarship valued at $18,000 over four year, and an
invitation to apply for the Elon Fellows Program, which may carry
additional scholarship money. In order to be considered you must currently meet the following criteria: An
“A” average, a combined SAT score of 1900 or higher or a score of 29 or
higher on the ACT (students who have not taken the SAT/ACT, may use a
PSAT score of 190 or higher or a PLAN score of 29 or higher), and
participation in one or more of the following areas: academic
area of interest, leadership, community services, international
activities, arts, athletics, and/or entrepreneurial endeavors. If you meet the above named
criteria and are extremely interested in attending Elon after high
school, please submit an unofficial transcript, which can be obtained
through your academic counselor, copies of your qualifying unofficial
SAT/ACT or PSAT/PLAN scores, and a resume or listing of extracurricular
activities to Counselor, Ms. Leibowitz, by February 3rd at 8:00 am.

J. Hunter and Mabel C. Strickland Endowed Scholarship recognizes one
Senior from Wake County for academic excellence, leadership, and
community service. The scholarship covers the entire cost of tuition
over four years. If you are extremely interested in attending Campbell,

"Scholarship Tab" and view the eligibility criteria and deadline
for the preliminary application submission to the GMHS scholarship
committee. One nominee from GMHS will be selected for the competition

apply to Summer Ventures! SVSM is a free, four week, residential
program that will be held on the campuses of Appalachian State
University, East Carolina University, North Carolina Central University,
and UNC-Charlotte. (Selected students will be assigned to a campus.)
This is a competitive application process and attendees will study one
or more of the following topics: Biology, Health Sciences, Chemistry,
Physics, Earth/Environmental Science, Hydrology/Geology, Archaeology,
Computer Science, Engineering Applications, Advanced Algebra, Advanced
Geometry, Applied Math, Mathematical Modeling, Problem Solving, or
Statistics. Applications must be submitted on line. If you are

Attention Parents! The Parent Portal on PowerSchool is now available. If your child attended GMHS last year and you had a parent SPAN account OR
if you have already completed and returned a PowerSchool Parent Portal
Access Form, you have been assigned a PowerSchool account. Letters
with your access information went home with students the week of 9/23.

Each parent or guardian will have one account. If you have more than one

The PTSA will host the 3rd Annual Garner Great Gift Extravaganza on Saturday, December 14th from 9:00 AM to 3:00PM at GMHS.
Vendors and craftsmen interested in reserving a space and students
interested in assisting the PTSA with the event and earning Service

Parking Information for Juniors and Seniors: Follow the instructions in the letter below. Then print and complete the required forms.
Rising Juniors: AP English III Summer Reading List and Information. Due
to summer scheduling changes, students registered for AP English III
second semester, should complete the assignment by the first day of
second semester courses.
Students, this is another reminder that the former movie theatre across the street from our campus is now owned by the WCPSS and will be an active constuction site for at least the next 6-8 months. This area is off limits, and any students found on the site will face disciplinary action from the school and a possible trespassing citation from the Garner PD. Please assist us by avoiding this area altogether, as we want to take every measure possible to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.
