In light of this, Garner High School's recognition by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) as a "World School" authorizes us to offer both the rigorous IB Diploma Programme as a means of diversifying preparation for highly motivated, college-bound students and the comprehensive IB Middle Years Programme that challenges students to become successful learners by encouraging intellectual stimulation, social interaction, and extracurricular experiences.
We are exited about the beginning of the new semester at Garner Magnet High School. In addition to the first semester End of Course test scores being higher than they have been in the last three years, students and faculty members alike are energized and excited about the potential opportunities that exist for our students. Â
Our Magnet Schools Assistance Program, MSAP, grant has afforded multiple students opportunities to participate in activities in the Arts. We will be taking students to see Stomp, The Color Purple, and The Wizard of Oz this Spring, the NC Shakespeare Festival actors will visit GMHS to perform two Shakespearian plays.
The GMHS Arts Department will proudly present its Spring musical, Cinderella,
on February 24 through February 28, 2009. Â
We welcome interested community members to call our school to schedule a tour and to participate in the activities that we offer for all.
