PhoneMessenger - 11/6/09
Good evening parents and students. This is Drew Cook, Principal of GMHS, and I want to provide you with an update on several upcoming events and important dates at our school.
First, we'd like to thank all of our students and parents for your cooperation this week in making the transition toa new traffic pattern in the Senior Parking Lot a success. We hope that this change will help to ease congestion in front of the school in the mornings and to reduce the need for students to be dropped off in the bus parking lot, which is creating a potential safety hazard for our students and staff. More details on the traffic change can be accessed on the school's website.
The GMHS Drama Department will bepresenting the play Arsenic and Old Lace both Friday and Saturday nights in the auditorium. The show starts at 7:00 PM and admission is $5.00. Come on out and enjoy a night of laughs with our drama students.
Just a couple of reminders to our parents...First, report cards for 1st Quarter were distributed to students during 1st block on Thursday. If for some reason you have not yet received a report card from your student, we encourage you to come by the Front Office to pick it up next week. Also, just a reminder that there will be no school next Wednesday, 11/11 in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.
Finally, we'd like to congratulate all of our student-athletes that participated in fall sports teams this year, including members of our Men's Soccer, Volleyball, Women's Golf, Women's Tennis, Cross Country, Cheerleading, and Football Teams, as well as members of the Marching Band. Thank you toall of our coaches, students, and parents who put in so much time and energy to make the season a success.
As always parents, please note that if you missed any part of this message, you can access a written copy through the GMHS website beginning Monday of next week. Thanks so much parents and students. We hope to see you at the final regular season football game tonight at Harnett Central HS, or if it's a little too cold or too far to travel, we hope you can come out to enjoy Arsenic and Old Lace at 7. Have a great evening and a great weekend!
